Gahanna Schools

Gahanna is served by the Gahanna-Jefferson Public School district, which also serves parts of Jefferson and Mifflin townships, and includes approximately 7,000 students from kindergarten through grade 12.

With exceptional parental involvement and strong partnerships with the business community and city government, the district provides a supportive community setting to seven elementary schools, three junior high/middle schools, and one high school, Lincoln High. 

Gahanna Parks

Gahanna, Ohio, has more than 700 acres of park land and reserves, and offers more than 20 parks with sporting event fields, paddleboat marina and picnic shelters.

The Gahanna Department of Parks & Recreation maintains a number of facilities for recreation, fitness and family activities.  The Gahanna Senior Center offers senior activities including transportation, social activities and events.

The
Hunters Ridge Pool is an outdoor pool and recreation area open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Amenities include diving boards, a party shelter, concession stand and adjacent playground, tennis and basketball courts.

Herb Capital of Ohio 

During the late 1800s and the early 1900s, Gahanna, Ohio, residents became famous for the quality and quantity of herbs that they grew. Local residents eventually began to call their city the "Herb Capital of Ohio." In 1972, the Ohio government officially bestowed this honor on Gahanna. To celebrate Gahanna's past and its continuing use of herbs, the city holds the Gahanna Herb Day and Gahanna Herb Festival in the month of May of every year. The city government also has dedicated an entire park, the Geroux Herb Garden, to growing herbs.
